Need to remove blank spacing between lines in dreamweaver table

Hi All,

I'm working on a web page in dreamweaver and I can't figure out why I have blank lines inbetween the lines of text in a table.  I don't want blank lines inbetween the text lines.  Could some one please help me on why this is happening.  My dreamweaver and xhtml skills are very basic since I do not generally work on web site stuff but I got the assignment for building the employee intranet.

Any help you can give me would be very much appreciated.  Here's a partial of the code. Dreamweaverlinesbetweentextlines.docx

Hi NewbieITGal,

If you look at your code, you should see several things:

1) You are defining heights in the cells.  This may cause the appearance of "blank lines" in the final output

2) All of the text is in div, blockquote and p tags.  Depending on your CSS, this can also cause blank lines as both elements are block-level and can have top and bottom margins pre-defined (especially p).

3) You do have CSS classes defined (body_text, sub_header_2).  Without seeing those CSS declarations, it's hard to say but the odds are one or more of those has top and bottom margins and/or padding defined and that can cause blank lines to appear.

4) You did not include the opening table tag and it is possible that cellpadding and/or cellspacing is set in that tag and that can also cause blank lines.

Should look like this without blockquotes
