Can GPG decrypt files encrypted by PGP?

I am using GPG to encrypt / decrypt files.  Can someone tell me whether this will also work if someone sends me a file that was encrypted using PGP?

If someone could also send me a sample file encrypted by PGP (including the passphrase), that would be great in helping me prove the concept.

According to gnupg.org, GPG decrypts and verifies PGP 5, 6, and 7 messages.

Do you happen to know where I can get my hands on a sample file encrypted by PGP for testing this theory?  You know how it is - it's one thing to read a document which says you can do it, but it's quite another to actually do it.

You can try this download of PGP freeware to test it for yourself.
http://www.pgpi.org/products/pgp/versions/freeware/winxp/8.0/ 30 days to test it out. So you encrypt using your keys with PGP, and decrypt with GPG
