Domain is not accessible from xp pro

I login ot my XP pc using  username, password, and domain example user name :frank Password: xyz; Login into PTLDC. Then I go to network places I can find the domain PTLDC. When I click on explore I get this Message "PTLDC in not accessible. You might no have permissions ot use this network service. Contract the adminstrator of thie server to find out if you have permissions." I have logged in as Domain Adminstrator and it does the same thing.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

start > run > cmd
ipconfig /all

look at the DNS server(s)
the only thing there needs to be your domain dns controller... anything else will break stuff.

failing that, you'll want to consider disjoining this workstation from the domain, and rejoining it
