Blackberry server express admin web interface

I've been struggelling with this problim for more than a week now and am seriously considering formating the server and starting fresh.

Running Server 2003 R2 standard edition 32bit
Blackberry server express (latest)
not the DC
not the exchange (2007) server
not the SQL R2 64bit (2008) server

The Blackberry express server Web interface used to work.

Web interface does not open, employees are recieving there mail on there blackberrys.

Have done reinstall,
Have checked ports. OK
Have checked Services. OK
Have Recreated BESAdmin uses in AD.
Have rechecked all permissions
Have istalled BES express server updates

 I think it is a Tomcat/Apache Problim

any suggestions will be appriciated

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you seeing the BAS-AS process running in task manager using around 500K of memory?

Is the server multi-homed - i.e. more than 1 NIC - binding order may be the issue here.

Are you seeing any stack traces/errors in the BAS-AS log file?

were can I find the BAS-AS log file?

Rob KnightConsultantCommented:

The BAS-AS service hasn't started so there is a probkem with that - it should be using around 500K of memory.

The description for Event ID ( 4 ) in Source ( BAS-AS ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: BAS-AS.
Rob KnightConsultantCommented:

You need to look at the BAS-AS log file in c:\program files\Research in Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Logs

Replce c: with your application drive if different.

Rob KnightConsultantCommented:

Are you running IIS or another web server which is using port 443?

You may have a CA Certs issue which is preventing the BAS-AS service from starting - see the fix in here:

Hi Rob
when I check the log folder under todays date there is no BAS-AS log file. when I go back to a earlier date I can find a log file.
I am not running IIS or other web server.
went and checked out the link that you sent me, I have tried the fix suggested to no avail.
can't seem to locate the actual bas-as executabel

Rob KnightConsultantCommented:

Have you installed any MS Updates recently, there are reports that some of those cause issues with the BAS service?

Rob KnightConsultantCommented:

Can you please try the following and then see if the BAS-AS process grows in size?

1.Log into the BlackBerry Enterprise Server using the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account.

2.Navigate to the following location:

HKEY_Current_User\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Administration Service\Key Store\CacertsKeyStorePass

3.If the CacertsKeyStorePass key exists, export the HKEY_Current_User\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Administration Service\Key Store registry key.

****Exporting the registry key MUST be done **************

4.Delete the CacertsKeyStorePass key.

5.Restart the BlackBerry Administration Service - Native Code Container and BlackBerry Administration Service - Application Server.

Hopefully the BAS-AS process will now grow and you'll be able to log in?

Thanks for your help, I would be lost without it.

BAS-AS process is growing now but keeps on restarting
its creating a log file now so I've gone and searched "fail"
this is what I found,

Caused by: Password verification failed
      ... 122 more

the rest of the failed entrys seem to be related to it
