Sorry - I think you misunderstood

I want to set margins, using the html format, when writing an email so that the text does not get misaligned with the footer that I use.

Hi,

Basically the outlook applies formatting from Word Normal.dot template. If you want set the margin specifically, then you have edit the Normal.dot template file. the same will be applicable for your word document also.

SO there is no way to tell Outlook to use a different template than the Word one then?
