Configure Backup Exec on one server to use SCSI tape controller on another

We have backup exec 2010 installed on two servers.  Server1 is running Windows 2003 server x86 and has a SCSI card which is connected to our tape drive.  Server2 is running Windows 2008 x64 and has no SCSI card.  Can I configure the two servers such that Server2 saves a backup to the drive connect to Server1?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes.
-Install BackupExec only on the Server1.
-Instal agent on the Server2
-Configure backup job to tape on the server1. You can see the server2 in your selection list.

I have BackupExec on both servers now.  Can I still run the agent on server2?  I have tried and while it is running server1 does not see it when I create a new job.

Try to push the agent from the server1 to the server2. May be you have to restart the servers (or services)

Without agents you have right only to backup local drives.

The Remote Agent expands network-wide data protection and optimizes data transfers for 32-bit and 64-bit remote Windows servers.

The push agent in BE is problematic to say the least.

I would just install the backup agent  manually on the other server.

The folks at BE clued me in on that one a long time ago.

I'm struggling to get the server to see the remote agent.  I have followed pqm554 advice by installing the agent from disk but no luck.  When I try to set up a backup job using the Backup Wizard the option "A remote Windows computer" is disabled.  We are desperate to get this working so grateful for any advice!
