Outlook 2007 - Exchange 2007 - Unable to access Out Of Office Assistant

Upon selecting Out Of Office Assistant, I get the following message:

Your Out of Office settings cannot be displayed, because the server is currently unavailable.  Try Again Later.

The odd thing is that it happens on the subnet where my exchange 2007 resides.  However, it does not occur on my other subnet that's at the other end of a Point to Point T1.

Any thoughts? Suggestions?
Thanks,

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

what you need to do is go to your outlook web access and set up out of office assistant there.

That's not a good solution.  I am more interested in finding out what is causing the problem.
