VMware on windows 2008 R2 running a linux...public IPs to VM?

I have a windows 2008 R2 running VMware with Ubuntu installed.
I have several public IPs, I want to point one of the IPs to the Ubuntu VM.

Not sure where to go from here

I don't have vmware right in front of me - but I use it at home.

You can make this adjustment in the Virtual Network menu item.  The network should be bridged, give the vm a static IP and set the VMNet adapter you want to use to the correct network ID.

yes, Use Briged networking (Bridge it to the adapter which connects directly to the internet) and then assign the static IP inside ubuntu.
