Re-enabling MAPI not working

A user seemed to have a corrupt OST file which was causing a resource hit on our Exchange server, so we disabled MAPI on his Exchange 2007 mailbox whilst we could get someone out there to recreate the OST.

This was done about an hour ago and we re-enabled MAPI, but it stil didnt work. It actually took just under 2 hours to take effect.

I don't think it's AD replication, since this is not an AD replicated attributed. Does anyone know why it took so long?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

since you have recreated the OST file ,it will take some time to fetch all the messages to the OST file

Sorry, I meant they can't connect to Exchange, either via cached or Online mode. OWA works fine though.
when a outlook profile changed you have to reboot the system was this done?

Yeah, we rebooted the client
I believe this is related to Information Store cache time
