I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Consider TrueCrypt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrueCrypt

Other applications exist which do the same but TrueCrypt is probably the most well known.

Then best to buy a hard disk and flash stick with encryption built in.

For flash sticks see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_encrypted_external_drives and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IronKey  Links at the bottom of second link go to other similar products.

For hard disks contact the various disk manufacturers.
