Unable to edit the computer certificate

Hi Experts,

I hava a Windows Server 2008 certificate server. I want to edit a computer sertificate and change the validity period from 1 year to 5 years however all the options are greyed out.

I don't think that's possible. The CA (Certificate Authority) will have to issue a new certificate for you.

Certificate can not be edited, if certificate got expired, you have to issue new certificate.

you will have to either renew it or create a new one that has a 5 year period. you cannot edit certificates

on your Ca authority sever, go server server manager>roles>click on the template folder, then on the computer certificate, right click and do a copy.  

adjust the configuration accordingly, remember you need to publish it to your intermediate sever if you have any.

you cannot change on client side. you need to change on you CA server and publish it.
