Exchange Email Looping

We have condition where e-mail will start looping due to auto-responses.  This is a issue but since it affects Exchange 2003, I was wondering if there is a way to detect looping and notify us or even stop the looping.  I have created a script that will allow them to disable/enable  forwarding to if looping should occur but would like an automated way.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I was able to locate this article as well, the solution was to go in and delete the rule.   We are using Exchange to forward the e-mails not Outlook, plus the forwarding is correct.  We want all e-mails to forward to but if the sender has an auto-reply as well then looping occurs.  Would like to know if there is a way for Exchange to detect looping and stop it.

Unfortunately, no.  If you use Outlook to do the forwarding, then you can use conditional rules.  If you use Exchange 2007 or 2010 you could create conditional rules, too.  In Exchange 2003 you cannot set conditional forwards.  It either forwards or it doesn't.
