Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you run task manager, take a look at what process is using up the CPU time.  That will help determine the issue.

Perhaps a maintenance plan is running?

I've SP_whoisactive installed and I do not see anything running for long time.
Where are you seeing 100% cpu usage?  If you look in task manage that would show the active processes and how much cpu they are using - if you sort by cpu time, you can watch how it changes and see where the majority of cpu is coming from.  If cpu is 100%, it should be showing a few processes taking up a fair amount of cpu cycles.

Thanks for your help. There was an issue and few jobs got queued up. When the issues got resolved the CPU spiked to 100% because it has to complete all the jobs waiting in the Queue.
