I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

A profile configuration file or a .pcf file is a configuration file for setting the client parameters in a virtual private network. The file is in INI file format and contains information about a VPN connection which is necessary for the client software, such as the username, password, tunneling port, DNS settings and much more.

It should contain all the info you need to login.

You would typically use the PCF file with a Cisco VPN client. Do you have one installed on your client system?

Is this VPN setup for your organization/company? If so, you should be able to get a network admin/eng to help you out with obtaining the latest copy of the Cisco VPN client.

You'll need a valid service contract in order to legitimately download any Cisco VPN client software per their site:

Q. Where can I download the VPN client software?

    A. You must log in and possess a valid service contract in order to access the VPN client software. VPN client software can be downloaded from the Software Center (registered customers only) . If you do not have a valid service contract associated with your profile you cannot log in and download the VPN client software.

Follow these steps to obtain a valid service contract:

Contact your Cisco Account team if you have a Direct Purchase Agreement.

Contact a Cisco Partner or Reseller in order to purchase a service agreement.

Use the Profile Manager (registered customers only) in order to update your profile and request association to a service agreement.
