When I start this XP Media Center PC I get the BSOD with UNMOUBTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME message. Then at the bottom is STOP: 0x000000ED
(0x82D9F7C8), (0x0000006),(0x0000000) (0x0000000). I can't boot in safe mood or any of the choices to boot. Is there a quick fix? I have the OS cd.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

After running chkdsk /r the PC would boot up. I then installed and ran SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes which found a lot of infections. I removed the infections and rebooted.
