I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The 3ware driver logs any critical error under event id #3 (error).

This particular event indicates that the drive connected to port 1 has failed and needs to be replaced.

If the drive is in a fault tolerant RAID (e.g. RAID 1 or RAID 5), then the logical drive will continue to work, though with degraded performance.

Driver errors, possibly upgrading firmware could help. What type of drives? Contact the manufacturer support for correct firmware updates.
