"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The admin guide on the web site provides a good walkthrough (cant get at link to post at the moment)

In effect though:

Build Server and install View Connection Manager
Build a Template Win7 or XP machine with the View Agent installed
Set up a Pool using that template in View
Entitle users to use that Pool
Use the View Client from a workstation to logion to your new Virtual Desktop

Linked clones etc can be used but this is the basics

these are all the VMware View 4.5 and 4.6 documents.

You also must have at least VMware Infrastructure 3 version 3.5 Update 5 or later and VirtualCenter Server 2.5 Update 6 or later.

If you don't want to read all the guides and documents, and want to get straight in with a Quick Start Guide to configuring and installing, this is the best guide on the Internet

Installing & Configuring VMware View 4.5

It's in severtal parts, follow them all and you'll have Vmware View 4.5/4.6 up and running in no time.
