CentOS Point subdomain to new IP address on virtual server

I have CentOS up and running and my main domain is fine, I have a VMWare system on another ip address on the same subnet. I want example.com to stay the same
I want test1.example.com to point to the vmware address
Also, I need to have the vmware system to point the root web directory for to

I'm running out of ideas and gas today and would love some input.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

> test1.example.com to point to the vmware address
Set your DNS entry or /etc/hosts like
---------  test1.example.com  www.examoke.com

> the vmware system to point the root web directory for to
In vmware system, assume you have apache web server, then set your <DocumentRoot /path-to-myapp> in httpd.conf
