CentOS Point subdomain to new IP address on virtual server

I have CentOS up and running and my main domain is fine, I have a VMWare system on another ip address on the same subnet. I want example.com to stay the same 192.168.1.5
I want test1.example.com to point to the vmware address 192.168.1.6
Also, I need to have the vmware system to point the root web directory for 192.168.1.6 to 192.168.1.6/myapp

I'm running out of ideas and gas today and would love some input.

Set your DNS entry or /etc/hosts like
---------
192.168.1.6  test1.example.com
192.168.1.5  www.examoke.com
-----------

In vmware system, assume you have apache web server, then set your <DocumentRoot /path-to-myapp> in httpd.conf
