MOSS 2010 Work Offline with intranet set up list libraries calender

Hi Experts,
Please advise..
In (Intranet set up) MOSS 2010 in context with Document Libraries, Lists & Calendar (All OOTB),
What are the options, possibilities to work offline... (consider an user with laptop)
Offline mean to say shall we work from outside the netwrk...
can we access the data outside network
can we modify offline and then say synchronize when came back to network..

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Two options I can think of regarding offline access...

1) Use SharePoint Workspace 2010 (the replacement for Microsoft Groove 2007)
2) Use Colligo Contributor Pro (or one of the other releases)

Colligo is a bit better, but depending on pricing and/or which features you want, one is maybe better fit for your purposes.

Or have users map network drives to the document libraries and try configuring caching, but really probably not a great option (may not even work, have not tested that yet)
