Compiler Error Message: CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Linq' does not exist in the namespace 'System' (are you missing an assembly reference?)

Everytime I click preview in browser I keep getting this error message

Compiler Error Message: CS0234: The type or namespace name 'Linq' does not exist in the namespace 'System' (are you missing an assembly reference?)

But if I go into the code behind (aspx.cs) file and comment out the below line, the page loads up okay.

using System.Linq;

Is there an easier way to make Linq exist in the namespace system? I prefer not to have to go into the cs file and comment out the line above each time.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I hope that you fixed the problem, just in case you did not add this line into web config where other assembly's are

<add assembly="System.Data.Linq, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=B77A5C561934E089"/>

And check your project/application settings and ensure that the target framework is set to 3.5.

Look on this

hope that might help you.
