If you are using a router to get to the printer, make sure that port 427 is not blocked by the router. You will need to log into the router to check this: type the router's IP address into your browser and check its settings. You will need the router's admin password for this.

Yes, the problem is related to your printer. However, if the message is about port 427, it appears that the other printer does not use that port.

Can you please give me some info about your network setup. I assume that both the printer and the PC are connected to a switch or router, rather than going directly from the PC to printer. Is that correct? Does the printer use a wired or wireless connection?

My guess is that the problem is at the Sonicwall. Log in to it, and make sure port 427 is not blocked.

Another thing you could try is to set the printer up manually. That should not require any unusual ports. Start the Add Printer wizard, and install a *local* printer (to M$ a networked printer is one that is plugged into a PC - go figure). When asked for the port, create a new Standard TCP/IP port with the printers IP address. When asked for the printer model, scroll to HP and select your printer. If it's not in the list, browse to the CD and find the driver there. With Win7 you can click the Windows Update button to download more drivers. Then finish the wizard as normal.

Oops, I just reread your comment 35369825 and you did say the other printer is the same model. So that shoots down my suggestions about the router blocking port 427. My bad.

I would still suggest installing the printer manually, as per my last comment. Another possibility is to try a partial reset (hold the # and 3 keys while you plug in the printer and turn it on).  You can also try a semi-full reset (# and 6 keys) and a full reset (# and 9 keys) as well. After any of these you will need to set the printer's IP address again.

Something may have installed improperly or corrupted during install.  I recommend deleting the printer and if it asks if you want to remove the files, say yes.  Reboot the computer and the printer and re-install the printer. Let us know if that helps.
