Exchange 2007 Mailbox Migration Failure

My exchange DB was having issues and I tried to migrate this mailbox and it failed in the past.
I ran and offline defrag and it worked perfect, exchange is no longer having issues. However there are 10 Disconnected Mailboxes I can do nothing with. I try to "connect" to the original existing Active Directory account and it doesn't pick them up. If you got to "MAILBOX" in Management Console, you still see the names. I tried to re-migrate the account to an Archive DB and I got this failure below.

Kamron X
Failed

Error:
Error was found for Kamron X (Kamron@X.com) because: Error occurred in the step: Preparing mailbox to be moved. Failed to copy basic mailbox information with error: A duplicate mailbox was found due to problems during a Move Mailbox procedure. The duplicate mailbox has been deleted. Try again later., error code: -1056749241

Exchange Management Shell command attempted:
'X.com/Former Employees/Kamron X' | move-mailbox -TargetDatabase 'MAIL\First Storage Group\Archive'

Elapsed Time: 00:00:13

Now the zinger, some of the mailboxes SUCCESSFULLY migrated from old DB to a new DB and they appear as disconnected. The Active Directory Object is "Disabled" as they are no longer employees, however I need to keep their email box.

Please help!!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. In AD you can implement the Exchange attributes for the successfully migrated mailboxes. This is in the Exchange Tasks list in A.D. on the Exchange server.

The failed mailboxes can usually be easily resolved. If you are having a specific issue with the "Kamron" mailbox, I would recommend you go to that users desktop, and export the mailbox to a Personal Folder File (*.PST). Then, in your new Exchange environment, create a new mailbox for this user. Log into the new environment as this user, and then import the PST back into the new mailbox.

This is the "oops, it didnt go quite right" option. Instead of spending 10 hours trying to figure out why this one mailbox didnt migrate, simply create a new mailbox for the user in the new Exchange environment, and migrate their data by PST. This will take 10mins - 2 hours (depending on the amount of mailbox data) and could save you quite a lot of time.

Another option instead of doing this at the users Desktop, is to use Exchange's option to migrate using a PST instead of Exchange to Exchange migration.

I hope these tips help!

Problem with that is, he is no longer with the company. Hard to do the PST method.

HOWEVER, even though his mailbox was migrated to the "Archive.edb" and it went through successful.
In disconnected mailboxes, his name is there.

I log into webmail/owa and his mailbox is there just fine.

Why is it in disconnected mailboxes and how can I make sure this doesn't get deleted... There are 12 users and half are current employees and half are archived...

indsupport,
Having researched this error a bit, it appears as though this specific error is caused by a missing, or wrong OAB (Offline Address Book). Can you please verify that the Offline Address Book is being pointed to the correct (new) Exchange server? This often happens when this step is missed during the Exchange migration. Please let us know what you find.

I found the solution to this problem. It was the DB was corrupt from not being maintained properly.

Steps to fix:

Updated Exchange 2007 to SP3
Created 2 New Database files
Use ESEUTIL /d to perform an offline defrag, file was 155GB so it took about 4-5 hours to do it completely. Once finished, I was able to migrate all of my mailboxes from the original corrupt, to the new 2 as a load balance

Worked perfectly

thanks for the help!
