Silverlight 4 Datagrid - Save sorting on refresh

I have a silverlight 4 datagrid populated by a pagedcollectionview following MVVM pattern. The grid updates periodically and refreshes the items by checking a database to get the latest values. However when it does this it doesn't save the current sort of the grid. What is the best and/or easiest way to accomplish saving the sorting state?

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,
By default, it should preserve the sorting option, it seems you are either handling control dynamically. if it is, then just get the sort option from the grid and apply it programatically after refreshing or rebinding
Thanks

Right, but how to get the sort option from the datagrid? There doesn't seem to be any way to tap into the Sorting event when it occurs...
