Internet explorer add ons

Is there a way to block all internet explorer add ons from being installed? maybe some type of registry hack can do the trick? I want to be able to keep the add ons i have now but not allow any other add ons to be installed in the browser.

You have not told us what versions of IE or Windows you use, but the Group Policy info should apply to most.

mildogz--I should have mentioned that most all Add-ons are not automatically installed but require your permission from the Information Bar (usually yellow) at the top of active window right under one of the Toolbars.
