Web certificate template not available Windows 2008 Enterprise CA

We have a Windows 2008 domain with an Enterprise CA. A second server is set up as a subordinate CA. On this server we established the Active Directory Certificate Services website. If I attempt to request a certificate through the website using the advanced certificate request link, the only options available under Certificate Template: is Basic EFS and User. Looking at the CA itself, under templates I see a web server template, as well as others. I know in 2003 this option was available, is there a way to enable or publish this so I can request Web Server certs using the internal web site?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

First, we need to make sure you have permission to enroll certificates on the Web Server certificate template. Open the Certificate Templates MMC, right click the Web Server certificate, click properties, and click the Security tab. If you're a member of the Domain Admins or Enterprise Admins group, you should already have access, but double check just to be sure.

You'll also need to reset the AD Certificate Services Service on the server that you are attempting to generate the certificate on for the changes to take effect.
