I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You would need to look at a few things IMHO:

1) The camera recording speed vs available bandwidth.     I'm not familiar with those models, but are the cameras recording at HD quality?     What is the current load on the circuit to those sites.   If your circuit is saturated with data and you have no QOS for the camera traffic, then you may be running into a bandwidth issue (can't fit a 2 inch marble through a 1 inch opening).

2) Amount of bandwidth at HQ.    12 cameras at high quality may be using more bandwidth than you suspect.   You may be saturating the HQ circuit.    You need to ID the recording speed of the cameras multiplied by 12.  Then figure int he available bandwidth after allowing for normal usage.

2) Quality of the line.     You may want the ISP to run a quality check on the line to look for errors.      Do you run your own checks (i.e. nagios) to the remote sites?   DO you have any data about uptime and/or availability?
