How can I import/access a .pst that's is slightly corrupted?

I'm using Outlook 2007.  I've switched to a new computer.  The OS was XP Pro and now its Windows 7 Pro.  The problem I'm having is I'm missing a couple years of messages once the .pst has been imported.  During the import there is an error that states, "Some items cannot be copied.  They were either moved or deleted, or access was denied."

The .pst file size is 2.8GB.  Is there a way I can recover these messages?  I've also tried importing this .pst file into an older version of Outlook (2003) and the same error happens.  Thanks in advance.

There are a number of pst repair utilities. http://www.stellaroutlookpstrepair.com/ is one I've used. Have you tried the MS pst repair tool - http://www.petri.co.il/how-to-use-microsoft-outlook-inbox-repair-tool.htm?
Use inbuilt feature called Scanpst.exe, please find the attached doc on how to use it.

Wasn't aware of this utility.  Thank you for the prompt post.  It worked wonderfully!
