Hi,

When installing the Service Pack, you are given the option of selecting your collaboration tools (e.g. OCS 2007 or OCS 2007 R2).

Note, if you are planning to use OCS 2007 R2, then the collaboration service must be installed on a 64 bit OS.

My bes server is installed on a windows server 2003 r2 32bit... So if I need to use the ocs 2007 r2 integration, I will need to setup a separated server with a 64bit os and install the collaborative service on it?

Can I only install the bes 5 sp3 collaborative service on a separated server without also upgrade the actual bes server itself to sp3?
OCS 2007 R2 should be moved to 64-bit anyway, as it's not supported on 32-bit in production.
Hi,

Yes, you can install the Col Service on a separate server and point at your Config database.

Select Remote Component during installation.

Thanks RobMobility,

also would like to have your advice on the following:

1> My BES 5 is installed in a windows 2003 R2 32bit and the OCS 2007 R2 is installed in a windows server 2008 R2. what OS should I used to install the collaboration service, a windows 2003 R2 64bit or a windows server 2008 R2?

2> There is a collaborative service installed on the existing BES environment, do i need to remove this first before i install the new separated service in another box?

thanks!
