Some guy is telling me I can download VMWare and boot a baremetal server off of the iso and then install my OS.  Tell me this isn't true?

VMWare is giving away a bootable OS?

Or the 64-bit one, which you should get since all new machines are 64-bit ready

Yes, it's called VMware vSphere Hypervisor TM (ESXi)

Just make sure before you waste your time, that your server is on the HCL

many come back here, and ask why doesn't my server work, or it does see my storage controller or network interface card.
