Is there a way to allow for different audio devices to set up to use specific applications.

Is there a way to have say the ability to watch from a single pc. You Tube through my headset and my wife can watch TV through the speakers and the TV card I have.

I need to be able for two people to watch simultaneously listen through two different audio connections. I watch software training videos and she watches televsion. It is fed through to my television monitor and through my desktop.

Is this possible if so how. Please advise. Thank you.

What if you have an on board one and a separate card. Will that work.....?

I have a set up on my pc and tv monitor like the one you want. Simply connect the composite out on your tv tuner card to your tv monitor so your wife can watch tv. You can also connect the audio out fron the tv tuner to your tv or external speakers. You can watch YouTube on your computer monitor with your headphones connected to the headphone socket on your computer's sound card.

Good Luck!

yes ruavol2....an onboard sound card and a even the cheapest sound card will do.

Any sound card will use the same channel as your on board sound so that will not help!

not necessarilly avgavg. The application for the tv tuner must be configured to output by one of the two soundcards (not the default directsound device). Internet explorer will output to the default sound card. I've tested it and it works right.

My point is that ruavol2 does not need to buy another sound card.

Like I have posted, I have a similar set up at home so it works perfectly without a second sound card. The tv tuner does not require a sound card as it can output the tv sound through its in-built audio out socket.

Ruavol2:

I suggest you try out what I have posted or you would have spent your money needlessly!

Good Luck!

It all depends on whether the TV tuner is internal or external. If it's internal the audio out socket from the TV cards is connected to the sound card. On the other hand, if it's external, your solution is the way to go(y)

Works for both internal and external tuners actually. I have both.

You need to connect the audio socket from an internal TV tuner card to your sound card only if you need to use the computers speakers. For the tv audio which is not required in this case.

Let's wait for ruavol2 to try it out!

I am sorry this is delayed. You are saying that I need physically connect the audio from the TV tuner to the sound card that is my Sound Blaster in this case. This will be configured and played through the speakers.

Then for the headset that I have which is USB will be plugged into onboard USB connection. Is there some place I need to assign it so that it works with the appropriate sound card...? Please advise. Thank you.

I was not able to find any settings software related that would allow me to set the hardware Speakers/headset with the soundcard onboard / internal PCI.

Your USB headset will play back the sound from the internal sound card by default.

Your USB headset will play back the sound from the internal sound card by default. Audio from the tv tuner should go directly to your tv and not to the computer's sound card.

does your tv tuner is PCI or USB?

It is PCI with what looks like an internal USB connection available......? Interesting. !

It appears that both your solutions will work to some degree. I tested them out and so far from what I can tell your answers are both correct on many points. I split the points as best I could for the both. Thank you.
