i'm trying to make sense of your question.  You have a an application that you've built using perl and javascript and you want to force the user to IE as the browser.  Is this correct?

Actually the web page is created using perl.   I want to login to client interface while i am using the customer support login, without losing the session of customer support. The login process is by clicking a link.

So i want to open the client page in IE, when i am using the customer support login in mozilla.

The two browsers do not share any cookies or state information.  Switching to another browser would require you to login again in the new browser.  Doesn't matter which browsers you use either.

If you want a new login, that would the way to do it.  Simply because the browsers don't share cookies or any state information.  Each browser would be in a different session even though they are both open at the same time.

not with perl and javascript - if you want to lauch a particular link from mozilla in IE install the plugin IE Tab and then configure the link within IE Tab to use IE

You can open your own copy of IE but you can't force someone else to open a link in IE.

I don't think you can.  Javascript in one browser is not going to open a different browser.  Security restrictions won't allow that.

IE Tab 2 is a plugin that allow you to use ie within Firefox - if you you want a particular url to use IE then you have to setup a rule with IE Tab 2 to do that it will switch to use IE after it opens the page - it will look like you are within Firefox - just has an icon indicating that you are running in ie browser screen shot ie tab 2 config panel
