BES server has just failed (terminal hardware fault). Have installed BES Express on the Exchaneg server, which is fine, except can't add any of the users to it because I think they'e still associated with the old dead BES server.

Keep getting the error -
"the specified user already exists in the available user list"

any ideas how to get round this?

The user's mailbox will contain a hidden folder with BlackBerry specific information.

Do you have an upto date copy of the old BES server configuration database? You might be able to restore that and depending on the version of the database, use the Enterprise Transporter to migrate users from that database to the new BES?

What version was the old BES Server?

Delete the old SQL instance which contains the OLD BlackBerry database... Make sure nothing else is using that instance..

Should clear up the information.
