SSIS Save Project

Once you develop a package in BIDS and the package is one of many in a solution. Do you:
1. Have to Build the Solution
2. Then Save the Package
or can you
1. Just Save the Package.

In other words I do not know the purpose of the build.

I usually just save the packages.

BUild the solution and copy the package from the bin folder of the solution. Build is noting but the compilation of the code after some modifications. Save would just save the package in the folder

BUILD actually doesn't do anything special, just saves them.

It is compilation process. If you have enabled the Deployment then the build process place the compiled package to destination folder.
