Hey All,

We are looking to use the thumbnailphoto attribute in AD to have users' pictures appear in Outlook 2010. The value required in AD is an octet string. What I'd like to know is how to convert a .jpg file into a string of characters I can save as a .txt file.

Any help is appreciated.

You can't convert a jpg into a txt.  but what photo you need? where in AD?

    Accepted Solution

I've found a solution. Either use a 3rd party tool to upload JPEG photos into AD or have one of my developers write a VBS script to accomplish the same thing.
