Get Excel data into Adobe Form ListBox

I need to create an Adobe .pdf form with a ListBox containing all our employee names.

I have the employee names in an Excel spreadsheet, but don't know how to get this linked to the Adobe form.

I note that Adobe will link to XLM databases via
LiveCycle>File>New Data Connection> Sample XML data
and I note that Excel has an export option for XML
      Excel>File>SaveAs>OtherFormats>XML data

I've tried this. Adobe does seem to connect to the XML file,  but no data actually shows up in the listbox.

Is there a way to get the employee names in the Excel database linked to an Adobe .pdf form?

If not, is there a way for me to just manually cut/paste into the ListBox values. I only know how to add ListBox values one at a time which won't work for large number of employees.
