Let me give a little background--
Our website is running as an ASP/IIS presence in a Sharepoint MOSS 2007 environment.  We've been trying to do an in-place upgrade to Sharepoint 2010 but it was not successfully deployed.  We now need to move the web site from MOSS to another server so we can completely start the Sharepoint 2010 install over and the only server we have available that is large enough is currently a file server
Can a Windows 2008 R2 server have the role of Web Server AND File Server?  Will IIS interfere with any file redirection we have happening?

One key thing to note - make sure you have a backup of the site before you transfer it over. You would need to do a Metadata backup of IIS.
