what are the steps in changing a battery within an iPod?
Hi Everyone,
A friend of mine wishes to change the battery within his iPod. He says there is a message indicating the battery is charging, but, it never really charges. With that in mind, he believe simply installing a new battery might be the answer to this problem.
If someone could provide tips or a resourceful link outlining the steps in changing a battery within an iPod, it will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
George

Hi There,
Thank you so much for your prompt replies. And, I agree with your one step method of simply taking it to a qualified professional at an Apple service center. Speaking of which, could you possibly locate one for me within the Murfreesboro or Nashville, TN area?
Thank you

Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for the prompt replies given to this post. After careful consideration of the "risk" involved in changing the iPod battery in addition to the possible difficulty in finding the right one, he decided to send the iPod to the nearest Apple servicing center from here, which was in Nashville, TN. Using the resourceful link given by jason1178, we were able to contact the Apple servicing center in Nashville, TN; was issued an RMA. Since it was still under warranty, the Apple servicing center will be taking care of this problem now.
Many thanks once again for the help.
