large pagefile.sys Server 2008 r2

Hello Everyone,

I configured a new HP server running 16 GB or RAM and Server 2008 R2. This server is an upgrade from one that was running 4 GB of RAM. I noticed the C drive usage seemed high so I investigated and determined it's a 16.2 GB pagefile.sys file that is taking up this space on C.

My question, because I can't seem to find a straight answer I feel safe with, is how can I delete this pagefile.sys and recover that space? And is this a good idea? Since this server has 16GB of RAM I'm thinking the pagefile.sys is not needed since we're not close to using the 16GB of actual RAM now.

Thanks in advance for your help!!
