How to visit some websites at office

I do some developement work, and use google for tech info everyday. But some google results was filtered out by company network since they are forum, bbs or others. Is there a free and easy way visit such website in office.

Any suggestion, thanks.

If you can create an SSH tunnel home, you can create your own SOCKS proxy using a local installation of Firefox to browse the Internet while at work, unfettered.

If you're running DD-WRT firmware on your home wireless router, you can set up SSH tunneling using a client like PuTTY to negotiate sessions at work.

If you are unable to or don't want to go the SSH route to initiate a proxy, I figure that using a [free] LogMeIn account to remote control a home computer to use for browsing is a workaround that is rather easy to implement.

Thanks Yobri, to setup the SSH tunneling on home router, does it need a special router to change the firmware. Also if common port has been blocked in office, can I still build the SSH tuneling.

Thanks.

If you have a router that already supports SSH capability, then you have tackled a big portion of this kind of setup. If you don't have such a device, then there are plenty of consumer grade routers that can be firmware flashed for such functionality. One of them off the top of my head is the Linksys WRT54GL which is a popular model but is considered somewhat outdated due to 802.11g WiFi  and it's not gigabit. A search for (good, recommended) routers supporting DD-WRT firmware flashes should yield a good number of results.

You can assign the port from 22 to any other port (which is typically recommended from a security standpoint) open port as needed.

If I were you I would not try bypassing my employer filtering rules.
Probably it's a better idea to communicate your inconveniences
and finally act based upon their answer...

Google proxify and the-cloak... if your org is using content filtering, there is a chance that such sites fall under a filtered category...

The proxify and the-cloak seems also been filtered.

It would make sense that well known (or anything that can be found via a search engine) proxy sites would be included in content filtering categories... go the SOCKS proxy (via SSH) or remote desktop avenues for optimal chances of what you're asking to do to work.
