Is Windows Server Better Than Linux

I am doing a research paper on Microsoft Windows Servers versus Linux. I am doing the rebuttal of Linux is better than Windows Server. Could anyone send me a link or information where I can get hard based facts that Windows Servers are better than Linux or Surveys that were conducted to show Windows was better? I am  a Windows user currently, but with all the information I am finding out about Linux...I may be changing my ways.  Anyway, any information you all can provide, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

If you need fair opinions, why have you posted it in Windows zone only? And only with 50 points?

@ farzanj, This is my first time posting. What would be an acceptable amount for points? I posted in Windows zones because I have all the information I need about how good Linux/Unix is. I am looking for Windows information.
Thanks for your comment.

I did the same thing when I first came here.  If the question is really small-which is not the case here, then you give 250 points.  Normally every one goes with 500 points.  If you like more than one opinion, you want to assign every one some points for their contribution.  With 50, how are you going to divide it to say 5 contributors.

The answer to your question really needs some context.   For example if you are going to run Microsoft Dynamics, it requires Microsoft SQL which only runs on a Microsoft Server.   The argument is academic if the software you need will not run on the other server.
In our case we had been a long time Novell shop.  We switched to Windows, not because it was better than SUSE Linux but because we were now running Dynamics and already paying for MS CAL, so why pay for another Server CAL for Netware?

I think that the first questions always needs to be "better for what"? As steveoskh mentioned, what are you going to do with it? What are the applications you need to run? What does it need to inter-operate with? Is there any existing infrastructure you need to use or fit in to? What is you budget - that's a big one... What is the level of expertise of whomever is going to manage this?

@ steveoskh and bwarning, good comments the both of you. I thank you. I am looking at a large general picture. I do understand that to narrow it down, it will be based upon the functionality/purpose of the server. Again, thank you. you have been very helpful.

Motte1376, I would argue that the large general picture requires you to consider what it will be used for.  For example a debate comparing a mini-van to a 1 ton pickup truck might be a good example.  We can debate their merits but the fact remains if you want to haul a horse trailer the minivan is no good and if you want to 7 people around the truck is no good.
In your very question you start with this premise.
I am  a Windows user currently, but with all the information I am finding out about Linux...I may be changing my ways.
For your use of a computer Linux may be an acceptable or better choice.  Stated or not, you have a specific set of requirements that a computer needs to provide.  Within that requirement, Windows, Linux, and probably Apple meet your needs.  Given the requirements you can compare the strengths and weaknesses of each one and decide which is better.
