Backup Exec 12.5 Jobs Running Out Of Schedule

Posted on 2011-04-20

I have my backup server running Backup Exec 12.5 with jobs scheduled to run each night. For some reason, my jobs are also running during the day on a repetitive basis. I can't find the source of this. All of the jobs are completing but it's really causing problems with my network bandwidth to have them running during the daytime.

Any help would be appreciated!

The schedule option in your job, or job policy template might have a repeat interval defined.  To check for this, look at the properties for your job/template and go to Schedule; click Edit Schedule Details and see if 'Restart Time Interval' has anything set.  Its semantics are defined as 'Restart task every HH:MM:SS, each run day'.

    Other possibilities might be:
A post-command that calls bemcmd.exe to restart the job
An Error-Handling Rule (Tools menu) that specifies a Retry Job action
