Hello Experts

After a crash the server hangs at applying Computer Settings: for some hours. After that i could login but got many errors in event log like Event ID 1126 : NTDS General, there are  no dns zones and users cant login due to missing gc.. etc.
I have a systemstate backup and tought to do restore from yesterday.
My only problem is i havent done that yet and dont know witch steps to take.

Any suggestions on how to do a simple and fast restore from system state backup?

The problem here is that if you want to restore your server, the system state won't restore all the settings you need. You need a full backup plus a system state.

System state backup has registry information, systems logs, AD configuration and some folders for AD like sysvol, netlogon, etc. But doesn't have all the information required to restore your server and all your services.

You can use ntbackup to restore a system state backup, but you have to install and configure the other services and install the applications that you have before.
