Symantec PGP and Endpoint encryption - Why impossible to get PGP in UK? Alternatives?

I've just been taking a look at the Symantec PGP suite. It looks interesting.

Why can't I buy this anywhere in the UK. Search for it on reselles nd none have it. Searched with in on suppliers, all i can find our Symantec forum links complaining about why it can't be found in the UK.

Now I can find Endpoint Encytption:

(Still not easy) howver this is not the same product.

Is there any reason for this? I know there is Truecrypt, but I wanted a commercial alternative?

I thought PGP is the best?

Have you called Symantic Sales and asked for any UK reseller names? You many find out that it's import is forbidded for some reason at the very least

strange, can see symantec training partner available in UK though

It may not be case of hard to buy in UK as it is not readily published...one key thing maybe to identify and work through UK partners. see link

Actually, personally, there is no one best solution for full hdd encryption as it can have limitation on support of tpm or h/w secure storage. Bitlocker support that but lack certificate preboot authentication. It can be more reassuring to go for layer defence to include full hdd, file/folder, tpm, smartcard authentication and remote wipe in cse of device loss....many but s/w still can be buggy, no 100% secure but just deter attacker advances and attempts.

Thanks. It was hard but I found a trade supplier who acknolwdged that when people find them they always say how hard it is to find in the UK.
Bit off putting really, makes you think Symantec don't really care about the product.
