Mouse doesnot function

No mouse connected to my laptop is able to function.
The USB ports are active as they recognize other USB devices.

Activate some windows services
Check the BIOS for a setting where you can enable/disable mice/keyboards on USB ports.
Forgot to mention, there could also be a further BIOS setting wher you can set the pointing device priority from the internal, both, or external only device(s).

Try another mouse to rule out the device as being a possible issue.

Also, download and run a quick scan with Malwarebytes (anti-malware program) and any anti-virus program you may have on this system. I've seen an instance before where a malware/virus infection compromised mouse functionality, but after infection removal, the device was functional again.

I activated some windows servics and the mouse stated functioning. Most of the solutions mentioned a virus or malware scan. It was done but it didn't resolved the problem
