Ext js - using qtip attribute

I can understand that we can use initialize the quicktip at the start of the document/script for the default tips to get enabled.
But can nay one please tell me know to use the 'qtip' attibute to write a custom quick tip
Just a bit of code highlighting the proper usage of the attribute

    ok here is how you would use it with html element but how use it in ext element?
    I tried,
    items: [{
    xtype: 'textfield',
    fieldLabel: 'Title',
    name: 'title',
    allowBlank: false,
    qtip: 'test tip'}......

    Doesn't work and I think throws error - may be its wrong syntax or you simple cant use one because nothing displays
    It would be very helpful of some one could provide assistance regarding this
