I am in desperate need to free up disk space.  On one of the storage group locations, I see a folder for "catalogdata".  Can this folder be moved withouth moving the database?

Also, If I move 1 database under a storage group, will that free up disk space, or does the whole storage group need to be moved before the disk apce is available.  I know that it holds whitespace, so I wasnt exactly sure how this is affected.

    Accepted Solution

Unfortunately the catalogdata folder contains the index to allow users to search within their email and it must be kept with the database.
You can move a single database within the storage group to another disk and it will free up space.
Just right click the database in ESM and choose move database path.

    Hope that helps
