Office 2003 - 2010 dual integration


Is it possible to have two office version running on the same machine?  Besides Outlook.  

Please advice.

Yes.

The instructions below describe how to install Excel 2003 and 2010 on the same workstation. Each time a new version is installed turn off all Word, Outlook, Access, and Powerpoint options and turn on all workbook and graphics converters, and VBA help. When installing the last version install all of the components desired.

Install Office 2003. Instruct the installer to install into folder "Microsoft Office 2003".
Install Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3).
Install Office 2010.

Note that each of the above updates are available on the Microsoft website and can be found by searching Google for the text above.

Yes besides "Outlook and Word" if you are using word as your outlook editor. You cannot have two versions of it. Rest of Office application can co-exist peacefully :)

I have Office version 97, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2007, and 2010 running on my box. All versions have Word installed and Outlook has always worked fine. With each new release I use the latest Outlook version and am now using 2010.

Doesn't Word Conflict with Outllook every time you start it? Is word the default email editor? Are these Office versions installed on VM?

I have never had an issue with Word conflicting with Outlook. I don't think Outlook 2010 even uses Word as it's editor. All versions are installed on the same box without using a virtual machine.
