What's your experience in training users to use office 2010.  For some users it is a big lerning curve.

Thanks.

Which Office suite do you have currently? Are you migrating from 2003 or 2007?  We migrated from 2007 and didnt have a problem at all. We also didnt do any formal training. Some one-on-one sessions were setup for individual users, though.

Currently 2003. The interface very different and users a little scary they will have to learn.  Bosses don't want to loose productivity...

Understandable - we went through the exact same thing when we moved from 2003 to 2007. We hosted multiple brown bag lunches and multiple training sessions. Change scares people especially when they feel they are very efficient and they know where everything is.

This might help you out:

We found something very similar for 2003 -> 2007. We had a bunch of positive feedback right away from those tools.

In the end, they have to realize that it will take some time to adjust to a new system, and they will lose productivity in the short term. According to a couple of studies though, once you become familiar with the ribbon system, efficiencies will rise and surpass the File menu system.

From ACM Ubiquity, Volume 9, Issue 11 (in reference to Office 2003 to 2007) (1000 users)
95% are positively or equally satisfied
81% say the new user interface is easier to use
60% say their productivity increased and 33% say it stayed equal

You could try to find statistics like this to ease their fears.
