unattended remote tightvnc service installation

Hello people,
my goal is:
-install by gpo in a windows 2003 env. only the server part of tightvnc 2.0.2., about 45 clients.
-[optionally] first uninstall old ultravnc installation
-in a silent/unattended way, but with specific options ( prompt for connection, only service mode, no icon)
Someone talk about make one install, export reg....then install by gpo in a silent way + import reg
This seems to be hard for me
Can u help me please? i wouldn't use not free third-party software to repackage installation file...
Thanks!!

To use GPO to remove software:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc758851%28WS.10%29.aspx

this is for managed applications.
Apps i would remove aren't managed.

Hrm.... Any change you can use SCCM, or are you looking for a purely GPO driven solution?  If purely GPO, you would have to have a script run to do your uninstalls....  I cannot help with that.

Why are you going from UltraVNC to TightVNC?  I was using TightVNC and didn't like it so I am switching to UltraVNC.

Tight seems to work better in my env. (xp 32 bit + win7 32 bit + win7 64 bit) so i want to use only one product.
UltraVnc is on 70% pc, tight is on 30% but both with wrong configuration.
My goal is remove all, then install Tight in a distributed way with right options in one shot for in all environment.
If i cannot remove in one shot (cause i have no managed and different application.....) i remove all manually, i understand...
But i want to install in one shot by gpo!!
Thanks

Because it was manually installed, unless you want to create a script to forcefully remove it (delete files, icons, registry entries, etc) or create a custom "install" which actually uninstalls it (both of which are outside my realm of expertise), I cannot think of a way other than manual (but those two other options do exist).

The second link I posted in http:#a35441667 has detailed directions on how to create an installed application via GPO.  Are there specific questions you have in that regard?

I have exe and not msi....
and i looking for a way to manage unattended and silent installation, in gpo way (as your advice).
So i need to produce an msi with the exe and the info to configure the app during installation.

I have used Advanced Installer to create MSI files from EXE files.  It has worked every time.

I cannot make a functional msi from tightvnc.exe.
My need was make an msi with specific installation option, cause if i have to install by gpo then passing pc by pc to set password and install service, then my effort is useless.
Tightvnc has no much info about command line and switch option, but it is the only vnc product i can use with xp, seven in 32 and in 64 configuration.

Sure the right way, but poor of details. With msi is simpler than with exe.
Advanced installer is a powerful solution
