BES 5.0.2 - Exchange 2007 SP2 - Child Domain -  cannot send meeting requests from BB - Red X

We have a child domain (we'll call B) that has an Exchange 2007 server which is the mailbox/cas server for that site.  The BES server is located in the parent domain (we'll call A) and was upgraded to BES 5.0.2 last month.  Clients in the B domain can't send meeting requests from their BB devices. They get the red X.

App Events in BES Server:
{} CDOCalendar::MeetingTransferred - OpenEntry1 (0x80040115) failed.
{} Send() failed: ERR_NETWORK_PROBLEM, RefId=1634538539, Tag=6913345
{} Unable to process Meeting Request in SendHelper

The clients whose mailboxes are located on a mailbox server in the A domain have no problems.  This mailbox server is located closer to the BES server as well (1 ms versus 63 ms)

    the last CDO 1.2.1 MAPI version is 6.5.8211.0, released on february 2011:
