BES 5.0.2 - Exchange 2007 SP2 - Child Domain - cannot send meeting requests from BB - Red X

We have a child domain (we'll call B) that has an Exchange 2007 server which is the mailbox/cas server for that site.  The BES server is located in the parent domain (we'll call A) and was upgraded to BES 5.0.2 last month.  Clients in the B domain can't send meeting requests from their BB devices. They get the red X.

App Events in BES Server:
{user@domain.com} CDOCalendar::MeetingTransferred - OpenEntry1 (0x80040115) failed.
{user@domain.com} Send() failed: ERR_NETWORK_PROBLEM, RefId=1634538539, Tag=6913345
{user@domain.com} Unable to process Meeting Request in SendHelper

The clients whose mailboxes are located on a mailbox server in the A domain have no problems.  This mailbox server is located closer to the BES server as well (1 ms versus 63 ms)

Thanks,

the new version of BES needs perhaps a new version of CDO 1.2.1 MAPI library from Microsoft.
Check with BES the  CDO MAPI version pre requisites

the last CDO 1.2.1 MAPI version is 6.5.8211.0, released on february 2011:

We ended up giving the besadmin account "Exchange Server Administrator" role on the Exchange server in the child domain.
